Captain's Favorite Tuna-Macaroni Salad

  • 2 cups (8 oz) small seashell macaroni (may use any small sized pasta)
  • 1 rounded cup cubed cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (6.4 oz) F/V Sonja Canned Albacore Tuna, undrained
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped dill pickles (sweet pickles if preferred)
  • 1 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup minced white or yellow onion
  • 1/2 - 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt (more or less to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 2 or 3 cloves crushed garlic
  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions.  Drain and rinse in cold water. 
  2. Place tuna in large bowl and mix in can juices until absorbed.  Add macaroni, cheese, pickles, olives, onion and garlic. 
  3. In a separate bowl mix mayonnaise, 2 tbsp pickle juice, salt and pepper.  Pour over macaroni mixture and toss. 
  4. Cover and chill.
